What Goethi does
The site provides free writing practice for CEFR levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. It is intended for self-directed learners and people preparing for German-language writing modules. Exact task formats, timing and length depend on the specific exam and candidate group.
How AI feedback is generated
When you submit text to the checker, Goethi sends the selected level, task context and your writing through its server to the Lovable AI gateway, which currently calls Google's Gemini model. The model returns suggestions about grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, coherence, register and task fulfilment.
Important limitations
AI feedback can be incomplete or wrong. It may miss errors, flag acceptable language, or misunderstand the task. Practice indicators are not official scores and cannot predict an exam result. For high-stakes work, consult a qualified teacher or the relevant examination provider.
